Carl McCoy's latest project takes goth to new heights, blending balls-out death rock and industrial in some places, unearthly guitar laments and graveyard crooning in others. Despite its overuse of jackhammer histrionics, Nefilim's latest is more like elegant horror fiction than the ersatz gloom of its peers.
