One reader of "Beloved" will win Kirin's dagger, pictured above. This dagger features a beautiful 16-inch Damascus-etched blade with a wire-wrapped black handle and gorgeous black-and-silver detailed sheath, and resembles one that is given to our narrator at a key point in "Beloved." Here's how it works: At the end of "Beloved," Kirin describes a dream in which she and her brothers visit a mysterious stone formation. What she doesn't know is that this stone formation is a real place in our world. If you think you can name that place, and its geographical location (latitude and longitude are fine, but identifying it in relation to nearby spots is almost as good), send an email to contest@bethwinegarner.com and compete for your chance to win Kirin's dagger.

Friends and family are not eligible; one entry per person, please. There is no deadline. I will announce the winner as soon as one of you correctly identifies the stone formation in "Beloved." Happy hunting!
